The Limeliters — Vikki Dougan

(Spoken) What a fantastic range of subject matter we find in folk song. Work songs; topical political songs; ballads of every description; lullabies; love songs. I can scarcely think of a subject that has yet to be treated in folk song - with the exception of the subject we propose to treat in the following selection. That subject: Cleavages "Well here comes the smut, Martha." No, indeed. Fortunately it's a subject that can be handled delicately (laughs) And uh, I think though that not everyone here tonight is familiar with the name Vikki Dougan. Ms. Dougan is a young actress. She recent devised a brilliant technique for attracting attention to her obvious assets. A little play on words there, I s'pose She appeared in, and was photographed wearing a backless gown. A gown cut so low in the back ... that is revealed a new cleavage. Well I was ecstatic! (laughs) My colleagues however were disappointed in that not one of the younger composers was inspired to celebrate the event in song. Humbly, I leaped into the breach. And produced a song in the latest rock-n-roll idiom, dedicated precisely to Ms. Dougan and her manifest charms "Well good for you" I heard someone say, my duty as I saw it. Now our arrangement begins with a hellishly rhythmic four bar introduction. During it's performance in times past some of the undergraduates have been inspired to call out "go man go" and other pleasantries. Well, we shall see (Sung) One Vikki turn your back on me Come on darlin' just for me 'Cause there is something so appealing That your eyes are not revealing Oh-oh Miss Dougan you're for me Uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh Other girls who approach me Are beautiful gorgeous and gay But you're so gosh darn more inviting Going the other way Vikki turn your back on me Come on darlin' just for me 'Cause there is something so appealing That your eyes are not revealing Oh-oh Miss Dougan you're for me Uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh Vikki baby you move me Without you I'm bereft I'm hypnotized by those crazy eyes And that callipygian cleft Vikki turn your back on me Come on darlin' just for me 'Cause there is something so-o-o appealing That your eyes are na-ah-aht revealing Oh-oh Miss Dougan you're for me Uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh Vikki baby you rock me In those far-out clothes (ziggity bop) But don't it get chilly flyin' home at night When that cold cold tail-wind blows? Vikki turn your back on me Come on darlin' just for me 'Cause there is something so appealing That your eyes are not revealing Oh-oh Miss Dougan you're for me Uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh Yeah yeah yeah
